On the 6th of May, I took part took part in the Luxury and Fashion Marketing Event. Since I am an article writer at Uduni, I was invited to be part of the organisation by one of its co-founders, who happens to be the president of the Marketing Club of Nova School of Business and Economics. The main goal was to intensity the awareness and instruct the event’s attendees about the importance of the fields of Luxury and Fashion in the Portuguese market. So, the Marketing Club asked managers, entrepreneurs, teachers, bloggers, personal shoppers and students out and sent everybody back to a classroom with a blackboard and chalks (seriously, I mean it! ahaha) Since I was not on holidays yet, I could only be present at the event during the afternoon. So I skipped the following presentations that seemed (from the pictures and feedback I got) very absorbing: L’OREAL MAKE UP SESSION AND A LANCÔME PRODUCT PRESENTATION

 I already knew this barber shop due to an event organized there by João Jacinto Freitas, the author of the Gentleman’s Journal. The event was called Gentleman’s Hour with Affligem.

Hey there Chocolate Lovers, This post is for you. Last Friday, I was wandering around the city with my brother and my sister-in-law, when suddenly we got into a store. I was so distracted that I haven’t noticed the magnificent show window fully decorated with Easter spirit. When we got in it was impossible not to live the Xocoa experience.  I admit, I looked around captured everything with my eyes and sat at a table and started reading a portfolio called “Xocoa Press”. While we were there I spent the entire time reading it and taking some notes, I knew I would have to search about it when I got home and that was what I did. That place had caught my attention. Nesta sexta-feira santa, passeava distraidamente pela cidade com o meu irmão e a minha cunhada, quando subitamente entrámos numa loja. Caminhava tão distraidamente, ao ponto de que não reparar na magnífica montra, perfeitamente, decorada com o espírito pascoal. Quando entrámos era de todo impossível não viver a experiência Xocoa. Admito, capturei o máximo que pôde com os meus olhos e sentei-me, numa mesa ao canto, onde li em revista um portfolio chamado “Xocoa Imprensa” e tirei algumas notas. Assim que entrámos, sabia que iria ter que pesquisar sobre aquele sítio, assim que chegasse a casa. E foi isso que fiz, esta pequena loja tinha capturado a minha atenção. In May 2009, Carla Marcos and Sérgio Felizardo, both zealous about arts, moved from their cities to Lisbon and brought this spanish business to the Chiado streets. How everything started? Sérgio used to work in the cinema industry and some years ago met a friend at the IMAGO festival. That friend knew the “Xocoa” family and curiously one of the family’s members was at that festival. It was all a matter of networking and good communication skills. So the chocolate business, that had its beginning at Barcelona in 1897 by the hands of the Escursell family, evolved to Portugal. However, the tradition and the original design remain present at the stores and at the products that are handmade. Em Maio de 2009, Carla Marcos e Sérgio Felizardo, ambos amantes das artes, mudaram-se das suas cidades para Lisboa,  trazendo este negócio espanhol para as ruas do Chiado. Como tudo começou? O Sérgio costumava trabalhar na indústria do cinema e há alguns anos atrás, encontrou-se com um amigo no festival IMAGO. Esse amigo, por sua vez, conhecia a família “Xocoa” e curiosamente, um dos membros da família encontrava-se presente no festival. Foi tudo uma questão de networking e de boa habilidade para a conversa. Assim, o negócio de chocolate, que havia nascido em Barcelona 1897, nas mãos da família Escursell, alargou-se para Portugal. Contudo, a tradição e o design originais continuam presentes, quer seja na loja, quer seja nos produtos artesanais. At this store, you can find all the different types of chocolate and with diverse flavours, such as: orange, ginger, coffee, lemon, wasabi, rose’s petals and so on. There is also several kinds of bonbons and chocolate in the shape of CDs and vinyl. You must go and see with your own eyes. There I did eat the most delicious almond I have eaten in my whole life: a passion fruit almond that was a gift from the store. Carla and Sérgio are very courteous, if you are around Lisbon these days meet them at Rua do Crucifixo, not far from Armazéns do Chiado and have your own Xocoa experience.   If there is something you need to know about chocolate, they are the ones you should ask! Nesta loja, irão encontrar diferentes tipos de chocolate, com diversos sabores como: laranja, gengibre, limão, wasabi, pétalas de rosa, entre muitos outros. Existem também variadíssimos tipos de bombons e chocolates em formas de CD’s e vinis. Confesso, que na Xocoa, comi a amêndoa mais deliciosa de sempre: uma amêndoa de maracujá, que foi oferta da loja. A Carla e o Sérgio são muito atenciosos, se estiverem por Lisboa, encontrem-nos na Rua do Crucifixo, não muito longe dos Armazéns do Chiado e tenham a vossa própria experiência Xocoa. Se precisarem de saber o que quer que seja sobre chocolate, é a eles que devem de perguntar! One of these days I was walking by Rua Garrett at Chiado and I was invited to come into the Tous store. I had never been there before but I was really curious to see how it was on the inside, mostly because of in this location it used to be Ourivesaria Aliança. Ourivesaria Aliança was a traditional Lisbon's jewelry that started in 1909 and had 103 years of existence and history. The motive I was invited to go inside was because Tous was celebrating LOVE, it's new fragrance that I loved and truly recommend!   Here are some pictures that I took that afternoon. The quality isn't that great because they were taken with my phone and edited on instagram.  Num destes dias passeava pela rua Garret, no Chiado, quando fui convidada a entrar na loja Tous. Nunca lá tinha entrado antes, mas estava curiosa para ver o seu interior, sobretudo porque neste mesmo local havia estado a Ourivesaria Aliança. A Ourivesaria Aliança era uma ourivesaria tradicionalmente lisboeta, "nascida" em 1909 que teve 103 de história e existência.  O motivo pelo qual fui convidada a entrar foi que, naquele dia, a TOUS celebrava o amor/LOVE, a sua nova fragância, que adorei e recomendo, verdadeiramente!  Aqui estão algumas fotografias que tirei naquela tarde. A qualidade não é a melhor, pois foram tiradas com o telemóvel e editadas no instagram. So my tip is: everyday is a day to celebrate love and every celebrations should be loved! A minha dica: todos os dias são dias para celebrar o amor e todas as celebrações deverão ser amadas!
